Baden-Baden, June 2024. Brenners Park-Hotel & Spa is undergoing a period of transformation. In addition to the extensive renovation of the main building, the award-winning Villa Stéphanie Spa & Wellbeing is also embracing change with the new appointment of Katharina Stöckinger as Head of Spa.

At Brenners, the well-being of its guests is of the utmost priority, which is reflected in its name. In 1983, the German flagship of the Oetker Collection was among the first hotels to introduce the concept of the modern luxury spa to Europe, and has since been known as Brenners Park-Hotel & Spa. Today, the award-winning Villa Stéphanie spans five floors and offers guests an unparalleled wellness experience with the latest and most effective treatments. The historic building underwent extensive reconstruction, complete renovation and comprehensive redesign in 2015. As Brenners looks to the future, its experts are already planning the perfect spa of tomorrow. With the expertise of Katharina Stöckinger, a new chapter in the rich history of Villa Stéphanie is now beginning under her leadership as Head of Spa.

Stöckinger holds various degrees, including a Master's in Economics and qualifications in Business Studies, as well as a Bachelor's in Nutrition and Wellness Studies. She has years of experience in the wellness industry, having worked as an independent nutrition consultant at Lake Tegernsee in Bavaria and later in numerous luxury hotels such as The Dolder Grand in Zurich, Switzerland, and Severin’s Hotel and Resort on Sylt, Germany. Most recently, she served as Spa Manager at the renowned organic wellness hotel Stanglwirt in Austria, where she led a 25-member team and was responsible for both operational and strategic management tasks. Stöckinger combines high-end diagnostic and treatment technology with effective skincare in her exclusive treatments.
Before her position at Stanglwirt, she worked for four years at St. Martins Therme & Lodge in Frauenkirchen near Vienna, Austria, where she was responsible not only for managing the spa area but also for the continuous development of a sustainable spa concept. A key focus was the ongoing training of the staff to ensure the highest level of expertise, combined with detailed market observation of the wellness sector to always meet guest expectations. Prior to that, she served as Personal Assistant to Dr. Konrad Hitz at The Kusnacht Practice on Lake Zurich, one of the world’s most luxurious and renowned treatment centers. Here, her diverse language skills – including native-level Polish, Swedish and German – allowed her to serve as the primary point of contact for the international clientele.
Her effective and innovative approaches were recognized at the annual spa industry event Forum HOTel&SPA at the Four Seasons George V Hotel in Paris in late May, where she received the prestigious Black Diamond Award as the best Spa Manager of the Year. This award honors individual outstanding achievements and exceptional professional careers.
